HACP Extended Edition v1.3 was made generally available in May 2018 with additional features of selectable font, print screen, and support for mapped keys which will enhance the user experience with emulator screen. There is also a new Settings panel that allows to configure all the user preferences under one roof. Here is a quick list of all the new features.
Support for mapped keys Key remap is a very powerful feature of IBM Host On-Demand. An administrator can map keys on their keyboard to a rich set of menu functions, host functions and other key combinations in a HOD session. This facilitates usage of different kind of keyboard layouts. For more information about this feature, refer to online help. Starting HACP Extended Edition v1.3, if users open a session in the client that has keys mapped by the HOD administrator, users can press that key or key sequence to produce that action on the client. For example, if HOD administrator had mapped ‘Shift + M’ key to a host function like “Enter Doc Mode”, pressing ‘Shift + M’ on the terminal screen in the HAPC EE client will enter the doc mode of editing. Currently, these mappings are read-only. HACP EE users can only see the mapping that has been performed by the Host On-Demand administrator. If they need any changes, they need to do that on the Host On-Demand server, and then return to the client to see those mappings and use them. HOW TO SEE WHAT KEYS ARE MAPPED: 1. Open HACP EE client and connect to a 3270/5250 display session. 2. From the HACP EE ribbon bar, click on the Settings icon. 3. In the settings panel, select Key Remap from the left panel to view all mappings that have been defined by the administrator. Selectable Font HACP Extended Edition v1.3 comes with the new functionality of selectable fonts for both 3270 and 5250 display sessions. Users can select the font that they want to use for the terminal screen. HOW TO CONFIGURE SELECTABLE FONT: 1. Print Screen: HACP Extended Edition v1.3 comes with the new functionality of printing terminal screen for both 3270 and 5250 display sessions. Users can either print the entire screen or a part of the screen.
